Pre-Wedding shoot’s, engagement shoots. Call them what you will, serve as a great way to capture some really different photographs as part of your wedding package. Over time I’ve noticed that those weddings that I have covered and included a pre shoot of some description seem to flow really well right from the off, as both the bride and groom to be are far, far more comfortable in front of the camera.
It’s not a subject to be taken lightly in itself as during your big day you will be the centre of attention and rightly so, but if you’re a little apprehensive, having a pre shoot is a fantastic way to get to know how I work with you, it also means you’ll have some great non wedding images to use for things like signing boards or save the date products for your guests.
This wedding Shoot was captured at Wells-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk, which is a beach that both he bride and groom to be were fond of. In terms of creativity, the lists are endless with so many backdrops and opportunities in abundance.
With regards to posing. I don’t. It’s as simple as that, I haven’t met many people who really love to pose or be posed. (The odd placement of a leg or hand is quite different though) Many find it uncomfortable or end up not being too keen on the finished product because they remember how they felt when it was taken. If the image serves as a prompt for your memory, it ought to be a good one!
If anyone is interested; the lens I used for the vast majority of these was the superb Nikkor 85mm 1.4D prime lens, super sharp and great bokeh when opened up.
